EasyMigrate staff visited the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder on Monday 24th June 2019 for the DAMA website launch. The Australian Government have reached an agreement on the Goldfields Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA), which was approved by Minister for Immigration, Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs, David Coleman, in March 2019.

The Goldfields DAMA is a five-year labour agreement between the Federal Government, the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and the Shires of Coolgardie, Leonora and Menzies. It aims to attract skilled migrants to work and live in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Coolgardie, Leonora and Menzies. It allows Goldfield’s employers to sponsor skilled overseas workers in specified industries that are currently experiencing critical skill and labour shortages. You can view the 72 occupations  on the following PDF list: Goldfields-DAMA-Occupation-List-2019-20-For-External-Circulation

Visa subclasses 187 and 489 will be replaced by subclass 494 and subclass 491 on 16th November 2019. New ones with PRIORITY focus on regional migration will come in, and the new permanent subclass 191 regional visa will be available from 16th November 2022. The new changes alongside the Goldfields DAMA agreement could make Kalgoorlie and the surrounding area a key relocation area for anyone looking to migrate to Australia.

EasyMigrate is currently working with employers in the Goldfields region to create a Job’s Hub on our website. If you are qualified in one of the listed occupations please email your CV to emma.gallagher@easymigrate.com
