Fee Increase for Administrative Appeals Tribunal Applications

There will be an increase in the fee paid to appeal a decision to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT).

Most applications for a review of a migration decision lodged after the 1st of July, 2021 will incur a $3,000 fee with those applications receiving a 50% discount to incur a $1,500 fee.

For general, freedom of information, security, taxation and commercial and small business taxation applications, the standard application fee will increase to $962, the fee payable for review of Small Business Taxation Decisions will increase to $517, certain taxation application fees will increase to $95 and there will be no change to concession fees which will remain $100.

A review of protection visa decisions for refugees will see a fee increase to $1,846, based on the lodgement date of the application and only payable if the appeal is unsuccessful.
