The Mobility Arrangement for Talented Early-professionals Scheme (MATES) is a promising avenue for Indian graduates and early career professionals who want to migrate to Australia. Established under the Migration and Mobility Partnership Arrangement (MMPA) between India and Australia, MATES offers a pathway for skilled individuals to live, work, and thrive in the Australian professional arena for up to two years.
There are 3000 places for primary applicants per program year with MATES aiming to fill the unprecedented demand for talent in Australia. Applicants are granted the opportunity to embark on their Australian journey but can also bring their dependents along.

To be eligible for MATES, you must meet the following criteria:
Age Requirement: Applicants must be aged 30 or younger (inclusive) at the time of application.
Previous Participation: Only individuals who have not previously participated in the scheme are eligible to apply.
Language Proficiency: Applicants are required to demonstrate an overall IELTS or equivalent score of at least 6, with a minimum score of 5 for each of the four parts.
Educational Qualification: MATES applicants must have graduated no more than two years from the time of their application from an eligible educational institution.
Qualification Focus Areas: MATES prioritises individuals holding qualifications (Bachelor’s degree or higher) in select fields, including but not limited to:
