NZ Important Admissibility Requirements
In addition to successfully passing the immigration selection criteria, all immigration applicants (regardless of under which immigration program they apply) and their dependants -- whether accompanying or not -- must pass New Zealand's admissibility requirements pursuant to the Immigration Act
and Immigration Regulations. The admissibility requirements prescribe that applicants must:

Be medically admissible to NZ. You must meet health requirements and not pose a health risk to New Zealanders or place undue burden on the health and social system.
The principal applicant and the accompanying family members must undergo a medical test.

Be criminally admissible to NZ. All applicants must be of good character and not pose a risk to the security of NZ. An applicant is of ‘good character’ if they have not been convicted and sentenced to prison for a minimum of five years, or convicted and
sentenced to imprisonment for one year or more in the last ten years.
The principal applicant and each accompanying family member should obtain a police certificate from every country each one has lived in for more than 12 months in the past 10 years.
