NEW WA SKILLED MIGRATION OCCUPATION LIST ANNOUNCED (State Sponsorship)
The Western Australian State Migration Unit has announced a new "WA Skilled Migration Occupations List” for 2011-2012.

The list has been expanded considerably. Important occupations such as "Hairdresser", "Registered Nurse", "Accountant", "Welfare Worker", "Pastry Cook", “Landscape Gardner” and more have been added which means that applicants in these occupations may be eligible to lodge their WA State-Sponsored permanent residency applications*.

(a) For ONSHORE applications (SC886, SC487): The WA Govt requires WA graduates to be already holding the SC485 Graduate temp visa and have at least one year's relevant and paid employment in WA after completing the relevant study.

(b) For OFFSHORE applications (SC176, SC475): The WA Govt requires the applicant to have at least three years relevant and paid employment anywhere in the world after completing the relevant study.
