- The TRA assessment has also been divided in two parts – Provision and Final Assessment
- The provisional assessment is the same as the previous assessment process for TRA – AQF Certificate III and related work experience for 600 hours or six months
- Please note that overseas experience is no longer acceptable.
- The applications are preferred to be online
- The fee for provisional assessment is $300
- The final assessment takes a total of one year after provisional assessment
- Volunteer work experience is still accepted for this stage as long as the employer has complied with DEEWR regulations for fair workplace practices and the applicant did not accept a remuneration to enhance his practical skills
- During Final TRA Assessment, the applicant will need to register the employer with TRA online
- The employer will need to maintain a log of your activities and competencies that you are learning on job
- This needs to be paid employment (No volunteer work is accepted for this stage)
- After six months there will be a trade test at the nominated workplace
- After another six months the final trade test at the nominated workplace – Job Readiness Program (JRP)
- Once the assessor are satisfied, they will prepare their reports and send them to TRA to issue a final assessment letter
- The total cost for this JRP is approx A$4250 and is paid in three instalments, registration, first test and the second test
