The 457 Australian visa & Australian work permit is the most frequently used  visa for Australian companies recruiting overseas and employing foreign workers in Australia. There are currently more than 75,000 people working in Australia on the 457 visa and about 55,000 new applications were lodged from June 2008 - July 2009.

The 457 visa can be granted for 3-month to 4-year periods and is renewable for additional 4-year periods. The visa is also very flexible as 457 visa holders can  travel in and out of Australia anytime, along with their spouse & dependent children who can also work and study on this visa.

The 457 Australian work visa / work permit is designed to be processed quickly, and in our experience it generally takes only 1-3 months to be approved from the date that we lodge your sponsorship &  candidate visa application. 

Our applications are usually expedited & processed extremely quickly because we prepare fully completed applications that exceed the requirements of the Department of Immigration. This process (known as front-end-loading) means that while many other agencies have to deal with repeat requests for more documents or information, our clients always experience a streamlined & headache-free process.

Even faster processing times may be achieved in urgent circumstances (e.g large or high-tech projects of significance to Australia or Australian national or state infrastructure).  In this case we would present a special application direct to the Department of Immigration Business Centre. We have experienced processing periods of 2-5 days in these circumstances.

In some (more limited) extreme/urgent circumstances we can also arrange for your employees to work on a 456 Temporary Business visa (even if you have no sponsorship approval). This requires careful presentation of your case directly to management at the Department of Immigration Business Centre, seeking permission for limited work rights.  We have experienced processing periods of  2-4 days in these circumstances.
